George Frank Ghiglia

George Frank Ghiglia George Frank Ghiglia, born on March 27, 1941, in Los Angeles,CA, passed away December 23, 2024. George grew up in Southern California with his parents Frank and Eleanor Ghiglia and his younger brother, Frank Ghiglia. After three years at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, George married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Stevens. They began their family in Santa Barbara before moving to Reno in 1967. In 1971, George and Barbara settled in Fallon, NV, where they purchased 50 acres and embraced the farming life. Together, they raised four children, providing them with room to breathe and deep roots in the community. Never one to be idle, George contributed to his community in countless ways. He was an active member with the Optimist club, served on the Churchill County School Board, and held positions on the boards of several banks. George also coached youth football and baseball, owned a clothing store, developed several neighborhoods in Fallon, and pursued his passions for hunting, fishing, world travel, and riding his Harley. Above all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 55 years, Barbara, in 2017. He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Ghiglia; Jennifer (Paul) McFadden; James (Lori) Ghiglia; and Jessica (Jesse) Nuckolls. He was blessed with and deeply loved his 12 grandchildren and cherished his 11 great-grandchildren.
